Chennai advances to IPL final by defeating Gujarat.

CHENNAI, India: Chennai Super Kings powered their way to a record-breaking 10th Indian Premier League final with a 15-run win over defending champion Gujarat Titans in the playoffs on Tuesday. Gujarat will have another chance to meet Chennai in the final when they take on the winner of Wednesday’s playoff between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants. Opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad top-scored in the match with 60 off 44 balls before cameos from the Chennai middle-order batters guided the home team to 172-7.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) signed financial documents with 23 local, regional and international banks and investment firms on a green hydrogen production facility at a total investment value of $8.4 billion on Monday. The plant is currently being built at Oxagon, in Saudi Arabia’s region of NEOM.

Jeddah Port’s Islamic Container Volume Soars by 25% in April: Mawani

RIYADH: Improved operational capabilities at Jeddah Islamic Port led to a 25.07 percent surge in container throughput during April, according to a statement released by the General Authority for Ports, also known as Mawani.  The total number of containers handled reached 465,438, up from the 372,064 recorded in April 2022.  This rise came as Mawani further ramped up its infrastructure at Saudi ports while ensuring supply chain reliability.  It also cements the authority’s efforts to facilitate import, export and maritime trade operations.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has more than 24 initial public offerings lined up for 2023 as it seeks to create boost the economy and create financing channels for emerging sectors. A report issued by the Capital Market Authority on Sunday said the Kingdom intends to boost its market’s appeal to foreign investors and increase their ownership as a percentage of the total market value of free float shares to reach 16.5 percent by the end of 2023.

Saudi Industrial Sector Attracts $144 Billion in Foreign Joint Investments

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is rapidly expanding its industrial sector with foreign and joint investments totaling more than SR542 billion ($144 billion), as the Kingdom continues to diversify its economy.   This value represents 37 percent of the total investment seen in the industrial sector, the Saudi Press Agency reported.   The number of factories with foreign investment in the Kingdom has reached 930, accounting for 9 percent of the total number of factories, the report added.

TASI rises 71.58 points with Food & Beverage sector leading

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index gained 71.58 points, or 0.64 percent, to close at 11,277.60 on Wednesday as 136 of the 224 stocks finished in the green, while 75 ended in the red. The top performing sector of the Saudi Stock Exchange was Food & Beverages, which soared 2.35 percent, while the Insurance and Banks sectors followed by 1.70 and 1.50 percent, respectively. While the parallel market Nomu rose 0.88 percent to close at 20,864.69, the MSCI Tadawul Index edged up 0.85 percent to close at 1,517.45.
