Chennai Super Kings have secured their place in the Indian Premier League final for a record-breaking 10th time, following a 15-run victory over defending champions Gujarat Titans in the playoffs. Ruturaj Gaikwad top-scored with 60 off 44 balls before Chennai’s middle-order batters helped guide the team to a total of 172-7. Chennai then bowled out Gujarat for 157 off the final ball, with spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Maheesh Theekshana squeezing the runs in the middle overs. Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni praised his team’s performance, saying that everyone had contributed. Gujarat will have another chance to meet Chennai in the final if they beat the winner of Wednesday’s playoff between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants.
