TASI drops 0.47% and Nomu gains 231 points at closing bell

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index shed 53.42 points, or 0.47 percent, on Tuesday to close at 11,275.77. The parallel market Nomu, which lost 183.81 points on Monday, rose by 230.64 points to close at 20,834.64 on May 23. The MSCI Tadawul Index dropped 0.73 percent to 1,509.98.  The total trading turnover of the benchmark index was SR6.64 billion ($1.77 billion).  East Pipes Integrated Co. for Industry was the top performer as its share price surged 7.55 percent to SR65.50.

TASI up 66.80 points with healthcare stocks leading at closing bell

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index gained 66.80 points, or 0.59 percent, to close at 11,344.40 on Thursday as 132 of the 224 stocks rose, while 72 closed down. The top-performing index of the Saudi Stock Exchange was the Pharma, Biotech & Life Science Index, which soared 6.6 percent, followed by the insurance and transportation sectors, which rose 2 percent and 1.14 percent, respectively. While the parallel market Nomu rose 0.15 percent to close at 20,832.55, the MSCI Tadawul Index edged up 0.60 percent to close at 1,526.51.

TASI rises 71.58 points with Food & Beverage sector leading

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index gained 71.58 points, or 0.64 percent, to close at 11,277.60 on Wednesday as 136 of the 224 stocks finished in the green, while 75 ended in the red. The top performing sector of the Saudi Stock Exchange was Food & Beverages, which soared 2.35 percent, while the Insurance and Banks sectors followed by 1.70 and 1.50 percent, respectively. While the parallel market Nomu rose 0.88 percent to close at 20,864.69, the MSCI Tadawul Index edged up 0.85 percent to close at 1,517.45.

TASI drops despite healthcare sector rally at closing bell

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index slipped 24.18 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 11,206.02 on Tuesday as 111 of the 224 stocks rose, while 95 declined.  Stocks listed on the Pharma, Biotech, & Life Science index soared the most, with a 9.28 percent climb, while the stocks of the Energy and the Telecommunication sectors fell 1.96 and 1 percent, respectively.  While the parallel market Nomu rose 0.57 percent to close at 20,682.62, the MSCI Tadawul Index dropped by 0.18 percent to close at 1,504.59.

Djokovic advances to Italian Open quarter-finals after defeating Norrie

ROME: Novak Djokovic eased into the Italian Open quarter-finals on Tuesday after breezing past Cameron Norrie although there was tension with the Briton after the top seed was hit by a smash. While Djokovic dispatched Norrie 6-3, 6-4, Monte Carlo Masters winner Andrey Rublev and home hope Jannik Sinner both crashed out in Rome, a key warmup for the French Open. Djokovic has reached the last eight in each of his previous 16 appearances in the Italian capital and he did it again, getting past Norrie on center court to set up a clash with Holger Rune.
