Nadal’s Hip Keyhole Surgery Requires 5 Months Recovery

Date:

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal underwent keyhole surgery on his injured hip, which was deemed a “positive” procedure by his spokesperson. However, he will require a five-month recovery period before returning to the sport. While he could potentially be back in time for the Davis Cup finals in November, it is more likely that he will sit out the rest of the season before resuming play in 2024, which he has already stated will be his final year of competition. Nadal missed the ongoing French Open, which he has won 14 times, and will also skip Wimbledon next month. His injury occurred during a second-round loss to Mackenzie McDonald at the Australian Open in January, and despite hoping for a six-week recovery time, he has been forced to take more time off. Meanwhile, his rival Novak Djokovic has the opportunity to break the tie for 22 majors by winning a third French Open.
