Barcelona’s Stunning Comeback Against Wolfsburg Secures Women’s Champions League Win

Date:

Barcelona secured their second Women’s Champions League title after a stunning comeback against Wolfsburg in the final. Midfielder Patricia Guijarro was the hero of the match, scoring two goals in the second half to overturn a 2-0 deficit. Fridolina Rolfö sealed the win for Barcelona with a calm finish in the 70th minute. The victory eased the pain of last year’s final defeat to Lyon, where Barcelona lost 3-1. Guijarro was named player of the match, but it was Alexia Putellas who accepted the trophy from England coach Sarina Wiegman after the match. Barcelona’s win was their second league crown and their fourth final since 2019. The match was played in front of a record crowd of 33,147 fans at PSV Stadium in the Netherlands.
