Date:

Baseball United, the first-ever professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and Indian subcontinent, is set to launch in November with a showcase event in Dubai. The league’s chairman and CEO, Kash Shaikh, said the region was “the epicentre of bat and ball sports” with over one billion cricket fans and more than 50 million avid baseball fans. The league will feature four franchises initially, with two already established in Mumbai and Karachi. An eight-franchise league will be launched in Dubai in November 2024. Baseball United has attracted investment from former Major League Baseball players including Mariano Rivera and Adrian Beltre.
