“UK Minister Commends Qatar’s Investment Leadership”

During the Economic Forum 2023 in Qatar, UK Secretary of State for the Department for Business and Trade Kemi Badenoch commended the country for its effective economic development and investment direction. Badenoch’s visit to Qatar aimed to support the negotiation process with the Gulf Cooperation Council to sign a free trade agreement with the UK, which would focus on investing in environmentally friendly goods and services. She also praised Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 World Cup and highlighted the importance of continuing cooperation with the country in increasing sustainable energy supplies. Badenoch noted that an agreement with the GCC would create opportunities for other parts of the UK’s green technology industries, including solar power, hydrogen power, electric vehicles, and smart energy systems.
