Masam Project: Clearing Landmines in Yemen
RIYADH: Masam, a Saudi project aimed at clearing landmines in Yemen, has made significant progress in its mission. In the fourth week of October alone, the project’s special teams successfully dismantled 688 mines planted by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
The Masam project, overseen by the Saudi aid agency KSrelief, has been instrumental in removing landmines that pose a grave threat to the lives of innocent people, including children, women, and the elderly. These devices, planted indiscriminately by the Houthis across Yemen, have caused numerous casualties and hindered the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
