Typhoon Mawar hits Guam with strong winds and rain.

Typhoon Mawar, a Category 4 storm, has hit the US territory of Guam with winds of up to 225kph, causing power outages and forcing residents to seek refuge in homes and shelters. The National Weather Service has warned that conditions are likely to worsen through Thursday, with the storm bringing destructive winds, life-threatening storm surges and torrential rain that could result in landslides and flash flooding. The US Navy has announced that it will deploy several ships to Guam to help with recovery efforts. Typhoon Mawar is the strongest storm to hit the island in decades.
