“IOC Warns Afghanistan of Paris Olympics Status Due to Denial of Women’s Sports”

GENEVA: The Afghanistan team’s status for the 2024 Paris Olympics was put in question Wednesday by the IOC over growing frustration with the Taliban blocking access to sport for women and girls. The International Olympic Committee said it “continues to be extremely concerned” about the sports situation in Afghanistan despite its repeated calls for action.

King Abdullah Port and Tabadul Partner to Enhance Logistics Efficiency

RIYADH: Delivery times for goods passing through King Abdullah Port are set to be reduced after the facility signed a strategic partnership with the Saudi Company for Electronic Information Exchange, known as Tabadul, to develop a digital system to boost the Kingdom’s logistics sector. The two entities signed a contract on Tuesday which will see the port’s Smart Gate System merge with Tabadul’s Truck Management System in a move that will increase efficiency.

RIYADH: Tourists traveling to The Red Sea Project can expect better mobility and accessibility options as Saudi authorities are developing the Kingdom’s first geographical navigation map that charts the scope of marine tourism in the coastal area.   The Saudi Red Sea Authority and the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information have partnered with 19 government agencies to develop the first-ever coastal tourism map of the Red Sea.

PIF’s Jada Fund of Funds Co. plans to invest an undisclosed amount in Bahrain-based Investcorp’s $500 million Saudi pre-initial public offering growth fund. The investment vehicle is exclusively focused on supporting a diverse range of companies based in Saudi Arabia during their pre-IPO stage.

Saudi Arabia’s NDMC Concludes $667m Sukuk Issuance in June

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s National Debt Management Center announced the closure of the riyal-denominated sukuk program issuance for June with the total bid amount received at SR2.5 billion ($667 million).    The total amount allocated was SR7.43 billion with the sukuk issuance divided into tranches — the first has a size of SR622 million maturing in 2030. The second tranche was valued at SR1.84 billion million maturing in 2035, the NDMC said in a statement   Also called an Islamic bond, sukuk is a debt product issued according to Shariah or Islamic laws.
