Riyadh Air orders 90 GEnx engines for Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet

PARIS: Riyadh Air has finalized a deal for 90 GEnx-1B engines to propel its upcoming fleet, it was announced on Wednesday. The agreement also includes spare engines and a TrueChoice services package. The deal follows the Saudi airline’s recent wide-body order for 39 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The signing ceremony took place at the Riyadh Air chalet during the Paris Air Show, where the airline introduced its new livery to the world.

King Abdullah Port and Tabadul Partner to Enhance Logistics Efficiency

RIYADH: Delivery times for goods passing through King Abdullah Port are set to be reduced after the facility signed a strategic partnership with the Saudi Company for Electronic Information Exchange, known as Tabadul, to develop a digital system to boost the Kingdom’s logistics sector. The two entities signed a contract on Tuesday which will see the port’s Smart Gate System merge with Tabadul’s Truck Management System in a move that will increase efficiency.

flynas signs $3.7bn deal with Airbus for 30 planes

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s budget airline flynas has signed a $3.73 billion agreement with Airbus to buy 30 aircraft, Saudi state TV reported on Monday. The deal was signed at the Paris Air Show by Bandar Al-Mohanna, flynas CEO and managing director, and Christian Scherer, Airbus chief commercial officer and head of international, in the presence of Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, president of General Authority of Civil Aviation, and Ayed Aljeaid, chairman of the board of NAS Holding.

Saudi Ports Authority signs deal for Yanbu port integrated bunker station construction

RIYADH: The Saudi Ports Authority, also known as Mawani, has signed a deal to establish an integrated center worth over SR2 billion ($533 million) as part of a pilot project to supply ships with fuel at the Yanbu Industrial Port. The total holding capacity of the pioneering project is likely to reach 2.5 million metric tons. The authority signed the agreement with International and Trafalgar Co. Ltd. on Sunday in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy.

Saudi Main Index Steady, Nomu Up 1,990 Points at Closing Bell

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index remained steady in the first session of the week, gaining 0.75 points or 0.01 percent to close at 11,516.89.  The trading turnover of the benchmark index was SR5.35 billion ($1.43 billion), as 120 stocks advanced, while 95 retracted.  Parallel market Nomu continued its upward movement for the fourth consecutive session, leaping 1,990.46 points to close at 28,988.06.  The MSCI Tadawul Index also picked up 0.03 percent to 1,519.18.

RIYADH: Tourists traveling to The Red Sea Project can expect better mobility and accessibility options as Saudi authorities are developing the Kingdom’s first geographical navigation map that charts the scope of marine tourism in the coastal area.   The Saudi Red Sea Authority and the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information have partnered with 19 government agencies to develop the first-ever coastal tourism map of the Red Sea.  

Latvia prioritizes Saudi Arabia as a key market, confirms minister for economics

RIYADH: Latvia is eager to strengthen trade ties with Saudi Arabia, allowing Latvian companies to contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 social reform and economic diversification agenda, Ilze Indriksone, Latvia’s minister for economics, has told Arab News. Speaking after the conclusion of the Saudi-Latvian Business Forum in Riyadh earlier this month, Indriksone emphasized the need to expand economic cooperation, boost bilateral trade, and increase investment in research, development and technology.
