The DC film Shazam! follows the story of Billy Batson, who bestows superpowers on his family. However, certain beings, such as Hespera and Kalypso, the Daughters of Atlas, are not thrilled with the situation and arrive to put a stop to the Shazamily. With all the upheaval in DC, fans are wondering if there will be a sequel to the film.
In regards to the possibility of a sequel, Zachary Levi, who plays Billy/Shazam, recently commented on Deadline, saying that it all comes down to what the public wants. He hopes that everyone sees the film and tells their friends and family about it. This isn’t the first time he’s brought up making a third movie in the series.
At this point, it is not known if Shazam! will be part of a trilogy. It all comes down to James Gunn and Peter Safran’s vision for the new DCU and whether or not Shazam fits into it. Hard choices have been taken, such as scrapping plans for a third Wonder Woman movie and confirming that neither Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson nor Henry Cavill will reprise their roles as Black Adam or Superman.
If DC decides to move forward with a third Shazam! film, we could not see it until 2026. The following actors are likely to reprise their roles if they make it out of the second film: Zachary Levi and Asher Angel as Billy Batson/Shazam, Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody as Frederick “Freddy” Freeman, Ross Butler and Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Meagan Good and Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, D. J. Cotrona and Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, Marta Milans as Rosa Vásquez, and Cooper Andrews as Victor Vásquez.
In conclusion, while fans are eagerly anticipating a sequel to Shazam!, it all comes down to what James Gunn and Peter Safran have in store for the new DCU. Only time will tell if we will see a third film in the series. To read more entertainment-related articles, visit MichiganSportsZone.
