Mito Pereira, a member of Torque GC from Chile, battled both a challenging course and allergy problems during his second round at LIV Golf DC. However, he managed to overcome these obstacles and shot a 5-under 67 with 10 birdies and five bogeys, taking a one-stroke lead at 9 under going into the final round on Sunday. Harold Varner III, the first-round leader, is Pereira’s closest pursuer at 8 under, while Henrik Stenson and Kevin Na are another shot back. Pereira hopes to become Torque’s first individual winner while his team seeks its second team title of the 2023 LIV Golf League season. The team leaderboard is currently led by Torque by three shots over Varner’s RangeGoats GC and Stinger GC.
