“Nuggets’ Jokic and Murray lead dominant win over Miami, take 2-1 lead”

Date:

The Denver Nuggets took a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat with a 109-94 win in Game 3 on Wednesday. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray both achieved triple doubles, with Jokic scoring 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists, and Murray scoring 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. This was the first time in NBA Finals history that two players from the same team achieved triple doubles in the same game. Miami struggled to handle Jokic’s 6’11” frame, and unless they can come up with a plan before Game 4 on Friday, they face an uphill battle. Despite Jokic becoming the first player in NBA history to reach the 30 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists mark in a Finals game, he was more focused on winning the game. Denver led 53-48 at halftime, and early in the third quarter, they quickly opened up an 11-point lead. Miami couldn’t find either defensive answers or offensive potency to get back in the game. Jimmy Butler led Miami with 28 points, while Bam Adebayo had 22 points and 17 rebounds.
