India’s top wrestlers have suspended their protests after the country’s sports minister promised to investigate allegations of sexual harassment against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The athletes have been camping in New Delhi since April, calling for Singh’s arrest. Singh, who is also a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party and a federal lawmaker, has denied the allegations. The wrestlers met with Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, who said the police would file a chargesheet by June 15. The International Olympic Committee has been urged to ensure an impartial investigation.

CAIRO: The International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor warned Sunday that blocking humanitarian aid from entering Gaza could constitute a crime.

JERUSALEM: Israel’s army said Monday it carried out air strikes on military infrastructure inside Syria as fears grow that its war against Hamas could spur a broader regional conflict.
“A short time ago, an IDF fighter jet attacked the launchers” from where overnight attacks originated toward Israeli territory, the military said, indicating it hit “military infrastructure in Syrian territory.”
The army did not provide more details, but public broadcaster Kan News said the strikes hit near the southern city of Daraa.
