Sussex Police are appealing for help in locating Laurel Aldridge, 62, who went missing from her home in Walberton, near Arundel, on Tuesday morning. Actor Mackenzie Crook, who is related to Ms Aldridge, has joined the search party and asked local people to check their properties and sheds.
New images have been released of Ms Aldridge wearing a turquoise fleece, maroon tartan scarf and brown hat. She also had a grey puffer jacket with her when she left home. Ms Aldridge is described as being about 5ft 4in tall with grey or blonde-highlighted hair and sometimes wears glasses. She was undergoing chemotherapy at the time of her disappearance and has missed a session since then.
Det Sgt Alan Fenn of Sussex Police said: “We would like to thank the public for the information which has been provided to us thus far. Our officers are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry and are determined to find Laurel. We would be grateful if residents in the Walberton and Slindon areas could check their outbuildings for any sightings of Laurel. Also, anyone who was in the Walberton area on Tuesday morning or has video footage of someone matching Laurel’s description is asked to report it to us.”
Mackenzie Crook has urged local people to help in the search for his sister-in-law, saying he believes she is still in the Walberton area. He said: “I’m appealing to everyone in the local area to keep an eye out for her. It’s really important that we find her as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information about Ms Aldridge’s whereabouts is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial number 811 of 04/02/20. The BBC South East social media accounts are also sharing information about the search and asking people to get in touch if they have any information.
