KAPSARC Secures Important UN Environment Program Position

Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) has been granted a key role in the United Nations’ environmental activities, allowing it to participate in global energy, climate and environment dialogues. KAPSARC has been given observer status in the UN Environment Program, which will enable it to deliver evidence-based reporting and policy recommendations, particularly in relation to climate change. The center will also be able to submit written contributions and participate in official UNEA meetings. KAPSARC has already participated in discussions on developing an international framework to address plastic pollution.
