Iniesta to Depart Vissel Kobe, Continues Playing Career

Date:

Andres Iniesta, the former Barcelona midfielder who helped Spain win the World Cup in 2010, has announced that he is leaving Japanese club Vissel Kobe. Iniesta, who won four Champions League titles and nine La Liga championships with Barcelona, fought back tears as he made the announcement, but did not reveal where he plans to play next. The 39-year-old joined Vissel Kobe in 2018 on a three-year deal and extended his stay by two years, but reports suggest he is leaving to seek more playing time. Iniesta scored the winning goal in extra time in the 2010 World Cup final, securing Spain’s only World Cup title.
