GASTAT reports 98% internet usage in education activities by 2022

Saudi businesses are rapidly adopting information technology, with high levels of internet usage reported in education and manufacturing sectors. According to the General Authority for Statistics’ 2022 Survey of Information and Communication Technology Access and Usage by Establishments, 96.1% of Saudi establishments used the internet last year. Information and communication topped the list of activities with the highest internet usage at 98.9%. The survey also found that 94.6% of establishments use computers, with 67.8% providing employee training on computer programs and applications. Additionally, 52.6% of institutions in Saudi Arabia have a social media account, with education leading the way.
