JERUSALEM: Israeli ground forces operated within the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday, attacking multiple Hamas targets before withdrawing, the military said in a statement on what Israel’s Army Radio described as the biggest incursion of the current war.
Video of the overnight action issued by the military showed armored vehicles proceeding through a sandy border zone. A bulldozer is seen levelling part of a raised bank, tanks fire shells, and explosions are seen near or amid a row of damaged buildings.
JEDDAH: Delegates from Sudan’s regular army and the rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces will return to peace talks in Jeddah on Thursday as their six-month war continues.
Fighting broke out in mid-April over plans to integrate the two forces four years after they ousted dictator Omar Bashir as president, and 18 months after they led a coup to remove civilian partners in government.

US President Joe Biden, in remarks looking beyond the war that broke out with an Oct. 7 attack on Israel by Palestinian Hamas militants, said the future should include a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians.
Israel should be integrated among its Arab neighbors, he said.
