Blast inside of college classroom injures numerous Afghan pupils

Date:

At least 19 students have been wounded, two critically, in an explosion at Ghazni University in southeast Afghanistan, according to officials. The blast occurred on Tuesday in a classroom on the outskirts of the provincial capital, Ghazni. Twelve female students were among those injured. Thirteen victims were admitted to the provincial hospital with injuries sustained in the explosion. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, although the Taliban is active in the province and often targets security forces. Last month, a magnetic explosive device attached to a minibus belonging to the same university exploded, killing the driver and injuring five students. On Monday, a minibus carrying Afghan security forces recruits was hit in the eastern city of Jalalabad, resulting in the death of at least 10 people and injuries to 27 others.
