Bayern Munich reappoints Rummenigge to supervisory board

Date:

Bayern Munich has announced that former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge will be joining the club’s supervisory board. The 67-year-old, who was a former player and long-time employee of the club, will be returning to ensure the club’s continued success. Bayern President Herbert Hainer praised Rummenigge’s experience, competence, and international network, saying that it will help Bayern be successful in the future. Bayern were without a sporting director following the dismissal of Hasan Salihamidžić along with incoming CEO Oliver Kahn. Jan-Christian Dreesen was presented as Kahn’s replacement on Sunday. Rummenigge won the European Cup with Bayern in 1975 and 1976 and helped the club increase its turnover from 176 million euros to 679 million euros during his time as CEO.
