Saudi Aramco, the oil giant, has made changes to its leadership as part of its long-term strategy to enhance its global portfolio and value chain. The company has appointed Nasir K. Al-Naimi as the president of its upstream business and Mohammed Y. Al-Qahtani as the president of the downstream business. The appointments have been approved by the board and will be effective from July 1, 2023. Both Al-Naimi and Al-Qahtani will report to Amin Nasser, the CEO of Saudi Aramco. The company hopes that these changes will improve operational and financial performance, support upstream capacity growth, downstream expansion, and help achieve net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions across wholly-owned operated assets by 2050.
