Arab-China Connection Strengthened by Riyadh Event, Industry Leaders Say

The 10th Arab-China Conference held in Riyadh has concluded with participants optimistic about the potential for Chinese investment in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. Rupert Hoogewerf, founder of the Huron Report, was among the business leaders present, and said that Chinese investors were keen to explore the region’s markets, particularly in sectors such as renewable energy, real estate and industrialisation. Hoogewerf also said that Chinese companies had the expertise and willingness to drive growth in the region. Nicolas Aguzin, CEO of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, also spoke at the event, saying that his company was keen to ensure that capital from anywhere in the world could connect with companies in technology and biotech sectors.
