DeChambeau’s Final-Hole Eagle Propels Him to Lead in LIV Golf Spain

SOTOGRANDE, Spain: Bryson DeChambeau made eagle on his final hole at the par-5 17th for an 8-under 63 and a one-shot lead over Talor Gooch on Saturday in LIV Golf-Valderrama. DeChambeau has yet to win against the 48-man field on the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League, and this might be his best chance. He played bogey-free for the day, and his eagle allowed him to move into the lead going into the third and final round.

LOS ANGELES: Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles is poised to compete in August for the first time since mental health and safety concerns cut short her Tokyo Olympics campaign, entering the August US Classic near Chicago. USA Gymnastics announced Wednesday that the four-time Olympic gold medalist was entered in the August 4-5 event, which would be her first since she withdrew from most of her events in Tokyo in 2021. “Registration...does not guarantee participation,” USA Gymnastics warned in the statement.

The World Bank has put an estimate of $14 billion on Ukraine’s immediate needs to repair the damage caused by the bitter fighting. But a recent study by the World Bank, the UN, the European Union and the Ukrainian government said the wider recovery of the economy would cost $411 billion.
