Bernhard Langer, 65, sets new record with US Senior Open win

STEVENS POINT, Wisconsin: Bernhard Langer won the US Senior Open on Sunday at SentryWorld to break the PGA Tour Champions’ career victory record. Pushing his record as the oldest winner on the 50-and-over tour to 65 years, 10 months, 5 days, the German star broke a tie with Hale Irwin for the victory mark with No. 46. Seven strokes ahead on the back nine, Langer bogeyed the final three holes for 1-under 70 and a two-stroke victory over home-state favorite Steve Stricker on the tree-lined course with thick rough.

Survey shows US oil and gas production slowing amidst high demand

RIYADH: Driven by a fall in crude and commodities pricing, oil and gas production in the US is decelerating at a time when demand is showing signs of recovery, research by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has shown. The survey posted a score of zero for business activity growth in the second quarter of 2023 among 150 oil and gas groups in its region, the lowest since 2020 when oil prices crashed due to the pandemic, ultimately forcing operators to close rigs and cut headcounts.

High-tech has for a decade been the fastest growing sector in Israel and crucial for economic growth, accounting for 14 percent of jobs and almost a fifth of GDP — not to mention innovations coming out of Tel Aviv adopted around the world in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and other fields.

SAFF introduces innovative funding program for women’s football empowerment.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) on Monday announced a funding initiative and support system for women’s football clubs.   This initiative is designed to “further enhance the rapidly growing women’s football leagues and the wider sport in Saudi Arabia, ensuring its sustainability and development for years to come,” a press release read.    SAFF’s funding program will provide vital financial assistance to the Saudi Premier League and Women's First Division clubs.

ACWA Power gets $100m credit from Chinese bank to expand operations

RIYADH: In an effort to boost its operations, Saudi energy firm ACWA Power secured $100 million in a revolving credit facility from China Construction Bank. Engaged in collaboration with the Chinese bank since 2016, ACWA Power signed the three-year revolver agreement to scale up its power generation and water desalination portfolio in the Middle East, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
