OIC Releases 1st Bulletin on Israeli Crimes against Palestinians

Date:

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has released its first weekly bulletin highlighting the crimes and atrocities committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. The bulletin provides alarming statistics, shedding light on the ongoing violence and oppression faced by Palestinians.

1,348 Palestinians were killed between January 23 and 29, with the majority of fatalities occurring in the besieged Gaza Strip due to aerial and artillery bombardment of Gaza City, Rafah, and Khan Younis. Additionally, six individuals lost their lives in West Bank cities. The report also reveals that 2,413 people were wounded in the Gaza Strip and West Bank cities during the same period.

The OIC’s General Secretariat has taken this initiative in accordance with the final communique adopted by the Joint Arab Islamic Summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 11, 2023. The communique emphasized the need to establish a media-monitoring unit to document Israeli crimes against Palestinians and digital-media platforms to expose their illegitimate and inhuman practices.

The bulletin further highlights the daily incursions by extremist settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. It also mentions that Israeli forces imposed restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the mosque last Friday. The occupation forces have continued their wave of arrests, with 204 arrests made primarily in Hebron, Ramallah, Jenin, and Qalqilya in the West Bank.

The report also sheds light on frequent attacks by extremist settlers on West Bank cities. A total of 23 attacks were recorded in Nablus, Hebron, Bethlehem, and Jericho. The OIC states that the total number of Israeli violations against the Palestinian people during this period reached 4,217. These violations include killings, injuries, arrests, attacks on places of worship, property demolitions, incursions, closure of crossings, and the construction of roadblocks and checkpoints on roads leading to Palestinian villages, towns, and cities.

The bulletin also highlights other violations, such as attacks by settlers, confiscation of Palestinian land, and the establishment of Israeli settlement outposts. These actions further exacerbate the already dire situation faced by Palestinians.

The OIC’s weekly bulletin serves as a crucial tool to raise awareness about the ongoing human rights abuses and violence against Palestinians. By documenting these atrocities, the organization aims to expose the Israeli government’s unjust practices and garner international support for the Palestinian cause.

It is essential for the international community to pay attention to these violations and take immediate action to hold Israel accountable for its actions. The OIC’s bulletin provides a comprehensive overview of the situation on the ground, allowing individuals and organizations to stay informed and advocate for justice.

As the conflict between Israel and Palestine continues, it is crucial to prioritize the protection of human rights and work towards a peaceful resolution. The OIC’s efforts to document and publicize these violations play a vital role in ensuring that the voices of Palestinians are heard and their suffering is acknowledged.

In conclusion, the OIC’s weekly bulletin sheds light on the crimes and atrocities committed by Israel against Palestinians. By providing detailed statistics and accounts of these violations, the organization aims to raise awareness, expose Israeli practices, and advocate for justice. It is imperative for the international community to take action and support the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, equality, and human rights.
