Kuwait to Host 26th Gulf Cup in Dec 2024

Date:

According to the Kuwait News Agency, the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation has announced that Kuwait will be hosting the 26th Gulf Cup in December 2024. This will be the fifth time that Kuwait has hosted the competition, with previous tournaments taking place in 1974, 1990, 2003, and 2017. Kuwait currently holds the record for the most Gulf Cup titles, having won the championship 10 times.

In January of this year, Iraq hosted and won the 25th Gulf Cup, with a 3-2 victory over Oman in the final. This was Iraq’s first win since 1988. The tournament was held in Basra from January 6th to January 19th. Unfortunately, the final was marred by a tragic incident where a supporter lost their life in a crowd crush before kick-off.
