An Israeli court has delayed a parole committee to consider the early release of terminally ill Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa, 61, who was recently transferred to hospital. Daqqa, who is suffering from advanced bone marrow cancer, was moved to the intensive care unit at the Assaf Harofeh hospital south of Tel Aviv on Monday due to further health complications. He was sentenced to 37 years in prison in 1986 for involvement in the killing of an Israeli soldier and completed his sentence in March 2023. However, Israeli authorities extended his sentence by two years in 2017 over charges of smuggling cell phones into prison. Dozens of Palestinians protested in Ramallah on Tuesday for Daqqa’s immediate release.

King Charles to Give COP28 Opening Speech, Confirms Buckingham Palace | TOME
LONDON: King Charles will give the opening address at the COP28 UN global climate summit in Dubai, Buckingham Palace said on Wednesday.
It will be the third time that the British monarch, 74, who has campaigned on environmental issues for more than 50 years, will deliver the opening speech, having done so at Glasgow's COP26 and at COP21 in Paris.
The summit runs from Nov. 30 to Dec. 12, and Charles will also attend a reception to launch the inaugural COP28 Business and Philanthropy Climate Forum which is running alongside the event, the palace said.

Iran’s Khamenei Urges Muslim Countries to Boycott Israel
DUBAI: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on Muslim states to cease oil and food exports to Israel, demanding an end to its bombardment of the Gaza Strip, state media reported.
“The bombings on Gaza must stop immediately ... the path of oil and food exports to the Zionist regime should be stopped,” Khamenei said in a speech, according to Iranian state media.
Israel has vowed to wipe out Tehran-backed Hamas, which rules Gaza, in retaliation for an Oct. 7 attack that killed 1,400 people and saw hundreds taken hostage.
