Heat vs. Celtics: NBA Finals with Denver Set

Date:

The Miami Heat secured their spot in the NBA Finals with a resounding 103-84 victory over the Boston Celtics. The win prevented the Celtics from making a historic comeback after being down 3-0 in the series. Jimmy Butler led the way for Miami with 28 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, while Caleb Martin added 26 points and 10 rebounds. The Heat will face off against the Denver Nuggets in the best-of-seven championship final, starting on Thursday. Despite an injury to Boston’s Jayson Tatum early in the game, Miami took full advantage of a cold-shooting start by the Celtics and avoided becoming the first team in NBA history to lose a playoff series after taking a 3-0 lead. The Heat last reached the NBA Finals in 2020, losing to the Lakers, and are seeking their fourth NBA title and first since 2013.
