LONDON: The UAE’s International Charity Organisation has donated 4 million dirhams ($1.08 million) to Emirates Red Crescent’s “Tarahum — for Gaza” campaign, launched to help Palestinians suffering as a result of Israel’s war on Gaza, Emirates News Agency reported on Sunday.
AMMAN: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken assured Jordan’s King Abdullah on Sunday that Washington opposes the forcible displacement of Palestinians from Gaza or the occupied West Bank, as he hoped to kick-start talks on Gaza’s future.
The king had raised Jordan’s concerns over displacement in the meeting, according to a palace statement, as Israel pushes on with its military campaign that has turned much of Gaza to rubble and left its 2.3 million residents on the verge of starvation, according to aid workers.
Former US vice president Mike Pence has stirred controversy after images published by Israeli media suggested that he signed Israeli artillery shells set to be fired on Lebanon.
Photographs depicted Pence, during his recent visit to Israel, signing what appeared to be artillery shells with a marker, as reported by Israeli news outlet Ynet. The shells allegedly bear the message “For Israel.”
