LONDON: Iranian intelligence services sent flowers to the families of Hamas hostages in a bid to lure them into spying on Israeli officials, the Daily Telegraph reported on Monday.
The plot also involved social media accounts on TikTok, Instagram and Telegram set up by Iranian spies to build relationships with hostages’ families, Israel’s domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet said.
JERUSALEM: A Palestinian stole a car and rammed people in central Israel on Monday, injuring at least 13, police said, adding that the suspect was in custody and his motivations were being investigated.
Israeli media said some people may have also been stabbed in the incident in Raanana, north of Tel Aviv, which came amid heightened security tensions over the more than three-month-old war with Hamas militants in Gaza.
JERUSALEM: An anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon hit a home in northern Israel on Sunday, killing two civilians and renewing concerns about the risk of a second front erupting in the Israel-Hamas war.
The deadly strike near the border came on the 100th day of the conflict between Israel and Hamas that has killed nearly 24,000 Palestinians, devastated vast swaths of Gaza, driven around 85 percent of the territory’s 2.3 million residents from their homes and pushed a quarter of the population into starvation.
