Football talent scouts from Saudi Arabia and Europe are attending the Kingdom’s Elite Championship for the Schools Football League for Boys, which is being held in Jeddah. The fourth edition of the event is taking place in the King Abdullah Sports City stadiums, with 32 school teams competing. The national sports project has been implemented by the Ministry of Sports in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, with the aim of developing school sports and increasing competition among students. Scouts from a range of clubs, including Olympique Lyon, Benfica and Osasuna, are attending.

JERUSALEM: The near-total telecommunications blackout in Gaza amid Israel’s ongoing bombardment of the Palestinian territory risks providing cover for mass atrocities, the NGO Human Rights Watch (HRW) said Friday.
Internet access and the phone network were completely cut across the Gaza Strip on Friday, nearly three weeks after Israel began bombarding the enclave following an armed attack by Hamas militants that Israeli officials say killed at least 1,400 people, mostly civilians.
