You S4 Pt. 2 Review: Critics’ Take on Latest Installment!

Date:

The Netflix original series You has come to a dramatic close with its fourth season, leaving viewers stunned by the unexpected turn of events in the life of Joe Goldberg. The show, which premiered in 2018, has never romanticized or excused Joe’s terrible acts, including stalking, kidnapping, and murder. In this article, we will provide a detailed review of “You Season 4 Part 2.”

The story of You Season 4 Part 2 revolves around Joe’s attempts to figure out what Rhys wants from him. He follows Rhys’s instructions and frames someone else for the Eat the Rich murders to avoid detection. Rhys then asks Joe to get rid of Tom Lockwood, Kate’s father, who is viewed as a threat to Rhys’s campaign.

Joe plans to win over Lockwood and use his influence to take care of Rhys, who has picked up on the rat’s scent from a distance. However, Joe realizes that not everything he has been told is accurate and that he may not be safe among the people he cares about, including Kate.

Penn Badgley’s portrayal of Joe Goldberg continues to surprise fans. In the first part, Goldberg played the role of hero and detective, but in the second, his fear of Rhys became clear. Badgley’s expressions capture Joe’s internal turmoil as he is torn between wanting to kill Rhys and being forced to perform his bidding.

Charlotte Ritchie’s portrayal of Kate remains unchanged throughout the series. Ritchie still harbors animosity towards her father, but she struggles to express this feeling whenever he is present. Tilly Keeper’s portrayal of Lady Phoebe quickly wins over audiences with her endearing portrayal of the hidden side of a popular figure on social media.

Ed Speleers as Rhys Montrose is still frightening and appears to be a formidable adversary for Badgley’s Joe. Part two begins with a basic tone, with Joe’s sole concern being the death of Rhys Montrose. However, the episode quickly shifts its focus to Joe’s future and well-being.

The addition of new characters and parts from previous seasons make Jonathan Moore seem very different from Joe. Joe’s decisions make him seem heroic, but the audience is reminded that there is more to him than meets the eye.

The writers have taken great care to introduce surprises at the most appropriate moments, which may have been intimidating, but the only response to their discovery is astonishment. Greg Kinnear’s portrayal of Tom Lockwood is given a solid introduction in the show, and his relationship with Kate is a major plot point.

Finally, the show neglects Phoebe’s friends like Roald Walker-Burton. In the first half, they played a significant role, but in the second, they are barely mentioned.

In conclusion, “You Season 4 Part 2” provides an intense and thrilling conclusion to the series. The show’s creators have never romanticized or excused Joe’s terrible acts, and Penn Badgley’s portrayal of Joe Goldberg continues to surprise fans. The addition of new characters and clever plot twists make for an engaging viewing experience. However, the neglect of certain characters may leave some viewers disappointed.
