Visva-Bharati University authorities have notified three expelled college students that the rustication orders issued in opposition to them on August 23 was not being applied now in adherence to the current order of the Calcutta High Court.
The three expelled postgraduate college students – Somnath Sow, Falguni Pan and Rupa Chakraborty – had despatched separate emails to the proctor of the central college on September 9 urging him to permit them to attend courses instantly as directed by the excessive courtroom.

The two economics college students are Somnath Sow and Falguni Pan. The expelled music division pupil is Rupa Chakraborty.
All the three expelled college students have obtained the copy of mail since Friday night.
The three college students had been expelled on August 23 for alleged disorderly conduct throughout a protest assembly in Visva-Bharati campus on January 9. The varsity has been witnessing demonstrations by college students in opposition to the expulsion since August 27.
Justice Rajasekhar Mantha in his interim order on September eight had noticed that the rustication of the scholars for 3 years was harsh and extreme. He had directed that the varsity’s expulsion order be saved in abeyance and allowed the scholars to rejoin courses.
