Max Verstappen has won the Spanish Grand Prix from pole position, continuing Red Bull’s sweep of the season with their seventh success in as many races. The win extends Verstappen’s Formula One championship lead to 53 points and marks his fifth win of the season, third in a row, and third in Spain. Lewis Hamilton finished second for Mercedes, but was a distant 24.090 seconds behind, with teammate George Russell completing the podium. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez finished fourth after fighting back from 11th at the start. Verstappen secured the bonus point for fastest lap to cap a day of domination.
