US Fighter Jets Pursue Small Plane in Washington, DC

A Cessna Citation plane crashed in the mountains of Virginia after flying over Washington, DC, with an unresponsive pilot. The US military scrambled F-16 fighter jets to chase the plane, which had taken off from Elizabethtown, Tennessee, and was headed for New York’s Long Island. The plane turned around over Long Island and flew over the US capital before crashing near Montebello, Virginia. There were no survivors among the four people on board. The Cessna was registered to Encore Motors of Melbourne, Florida, and was carrying the company’s owner’s daughter, granddaughter, nanny and pilot.
