LONDON (Reuters) – Britain has summoned the Iranian ambassador to the nation to express its strong objections to the brief arrest of London’s envoy to Tehran on Saturday, a spokesman for Prime Minister Boris Johnson claimed.
“This was an unacceptable breach of the Vienna Conference and it needs to be investigated,” the spokesman reported on Monday. “We are trying to get entire assurances from the Iranian government that this will under no circumstances materialize once more.
“The FCO has summoned the Iranian ambassador today to express our sturdy objections.”
