Twitter user celebrates Pakistani women on International Women’s Day

A Pakistani Twitter user with the social media handle, Fidato, shared some of the stories of successful women breaking stereotypes, on International Women’s Day.

In his long Twitter thread, he shared about how women in various fields are challenging stereotypes and making great strides. It celebrates empowered women working in different fields. From biologists to entrepreneurs, his Twitter thread covered distinct women from all age groups.

He began with Aban Marker Kabraji who is a Pakistani biologist and scientist of Parsi origin. “She is regional director of the Asia Regional Office of IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature. She is a McCluskey fellow and visiting professor at Yale School of Environmental studies,” said the Twitter user.

“Ayesha Khan is Director of Acumen Fund for Pakistan. Ayesha previously worked as the Head of Strategy at a leading bank in Pakistan and also worked in New York as a management consultant with McKinsey and Company. Ayesha holds a Doctorate from the Harvard Business School,” wrote Fidato in a tweet.

He also discussed the CEO of Nishat Linen, a popular clothing brand of Pakistan. “Naz Mansha is the CEO of Nishat Linen. She is the Chairperson of Nishat Mills Limited and carries over 30 years of experience. She is also the Chairperson of DG Khan Cement Company Limited. She is a graduate of Kinnaird College, Lahore. Nishat Linen is her success story,” the Twitter user said about her.

Dr Aneela Salman, a Christian PAS officer also made it to his list. “Dr Aneela Salman is the first Christian officer to be selected in the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS). She completed her PhD at the University of Albany, USA. She also served as Managing Director, Punjab Education Foundation,” said Fidato.

Several other prominent females like beauty entrepreneur Musarrat Misbah, Tara Uzra Dawood-CEO of 786 Investments Ltd, Anila Fatima is the co-founder and CEO ‘Women in Renewable Energy, and several women serving at top posts in the corporate sector were highlighted in his post.
