MACON: Team Abu Dhabi’s Thani Al-Qemzi produced a battling performance to claim a 44th career podium finish today as Jonas Andersson won the Grand Prix of France to extend his lead in the F1H2O World Championship. Andersson, the 2021 world champion, recorded a comfortable victory from Sharjah Team’s Ferdinand Zandbergen and Al-Qemzi in a race littered with dramatic moments on the Saone River in Macon.

Crude Oil Stabilizes Amid Fuel Demand Worries and Weak China Data

RIYADH: Oil prices steadied on Thursday, a day after rising sharply on a bigger-than-expected fall in US inventories, as attention shifted back to rising interest rates denting global economic growth.  Brent crude futures was up 37 cents, or 0.50 percent, to $74.40 a barrel by 02:41 p.m. Saudi time, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 39 cents, or 0.56 percent, to $69.95 a barrel.

“Nick Taylor: First Canadian Champion Since 1954 Wins Canadian Open in Playoff”

TORONTO: Nick Taylor became the first Canadian in 69 years to win his national open, holing a 72-foot eagle putt on the fourth playoff hole to beat Tommy Fleetwood in the RBC Canadian Open on Sunday. Taylor tossed his putter into the air and jumped into the arms of his caddie after the longest made putt of his PGA Tour career, and fellow Canadian players Mike Weir, Corey Conners and Adam Hadwin were among those who ran out to the green to congratulate him.

Al-Ittihad triumphs as Al-Nassr and Ronaldo falter

Al-Ittihad are Saudi Arabian champions for the first time since 2009 after defeating Al-Fayha 3- 0 on Saturday in the penultimate round of fixtures in the Roshn Saudi League. Second-placed Al-Nassr came back to draw 1-1 at Ettifaq but it was not enough as Ittihad’s win ended an exciting title race. It is a well-deserved triumph for coach Nuno Santo and his players who saw off the challenge of Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr to lift a hard-fought and deserved prize.

WWE Fans Watch Heroes Battle for Glory

JEDDAH: The Jeddah Superdome could not contain the pandemonium and excitement expressed by more than 13,000 WWE fans. The Night of Champions had fans hanging from the rafters and provided excitement from bell to bell. The evening showcased superstars such as AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Trish Stratus, and others who kept fans out of their seats throughout. The premium live event showcased WWE’s commitment to its partnership with the General Entertainment Authority to provide sports entertainment. This was the ninth event of the partnership.

DUBAI: Dubai was busy on Thursday clearing its waterlogged roads and drying out flooded homes two days after a record storm deposited a year’s worth of rainfall in a day. Dubai International Airport, a major travel hub, struggled to clear a backlog of flights, and many roads were still flooded in the aftermath of Tuesday’s deluge. The rains were the heaviest experienced by the UAE in the 75 years that records have been kept.  They brought much of the country to a standstill and caused significant damage.
