Saudi Airlines Catering Co. inks $720m agreement with Red Sea Global

RIYADH: A SR2.7 billion ($720 million) deal has been signed which will see Saudi Airlines Catering Co. provide laundry services for hotels at Red Sea Global’s tourist developments. The agreement was announced on the Saudi stock exchange, Tadawul, and SACC expects the deal to start showing up in its profit margin by the third quarter of 2025. The 20-year contract will see SACC operate laundry services for hotels, resorts and other facilities located within the destination.

Crude Oil Prices Rise on US Stock Draws, Amid Lingering Rate Hike Concerns

RIYADH: Oil prices edged higher on Wednesday after industry data showed a larger-than-expected drawdown of US inventories, signaling robust demand from the world’s biggest oil consumer, but the gains were limited by worries over interest rate hikes.   Brent crude futures rose 43 cents, or 0.60 percent, to $72.69 a barrel at 09:28 a.m. Saudi time, while US West Texas Intermediate futures gained 40 cents, or 0.59 percent, to $68.10 a barrel.

“Bahrain aims for 5% renewable energy in electricity generation by 2025”

RIYADH: In line with the aims of Bahrain’s National Energy Transition Plan, the state has stepped up efforts to increase the share of its renewable energy to 5 percent of its total electricity generation by 2025.  Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, president of the country’s Electricity and Water Authority, said the move is part of a strategy to diversify the state’s energy resources and achieve a renewable resource share of 20 percent by 2035, according to Bahrain News Agency.

King Fahd Airport: 250k Passengers in 7 Days

RIYADH: King Fahd International Airport witnessed an 11 percent rise in passenger numbers throughout the seven days of the Eid Al-Adha celebration compared to the equivalent period in 2022. Dammam Airports Co., which operates the transport hub, revealed 250,000 people passed through the facility from June 19 to June 2. The airport also witnessed over 2,000 flights during this time, reflecting a 15 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Busquets Joins Messi at Inter Miami FC

MIAMI, USA: Inter Miami announced on Friday they are signing former Spain and Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets to team-up with Lionel Messi at the Major League Soccer club. Messi said earlier this month he was moving to Miami and he will now be re-united with his former Barca team-mate Busquets. Inter Miami posted a tweeted heralding the arrival of the player. “Si, Busi” read the twitter post, referring to Busquets’ nickname. The tweet included quotes praising Busquets from several people in the game including former Spain coach Vicente del Bosque.

During an interview published on the club’s social media, the Saudi Public Investment Fund supremo said the board of directors now expects the club to be playing at the very top level of European football on a regular basis, and will build a “squad of stars.”
