74% of Saudi CEOs Confident in Kingdom’s Growth for Next 3 Years: KPMG

RIYADH: A vast majority CEOs in Saudi Arabia are confident about the Kingdom’s economic growth over the next three years despite the prevalent inflationary pressures and geopolitical tensions, revealed a global survey by KPMG.  The global professional services network, in its latest CEO Outlook report, revealed that 74 percent of Saudi chief executives are optimistic about the economic growth of the Kingdom over the next three years, compared to just 60 percent who are confident about global progress. 

“French Treasury Official Urges Saudi Arabia to Increase Collaboration for 2030 Goals”

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and France need to intensify joint work and develop new projects as both countries have a lot of scope for synergy and collaboration under their 2030 investment goals, said a top official of the French Treasury.  Speaking at the France-Saudi Investment Forum, Denis Le Fers, head of bilateral trade relations at the French Treasury, explained that partnership has a central role to play in France 2030. 

Russia’s Climate Commitments Fully Met, Says Putin

ST. PETERSBURG: Russia, unlike other countries, fully complies with its climate commitments and is even ahead of schedule, Russian President Vladimir Putin has told the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. “Unlike many other countries, we fully fulfill all our obligations in this area. Even with a certain advance,” Putin said during an inspection of a stand at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum dedicated to the upcoming UN climate summit in the UAE.

KAPSARC Secures Important UN Environment Program Position

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia will soon become an active partner in global ecological governance after the UN granted the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center a key role in its environmental activities.  According to a KAPSARC press note, the think tank will now be able participate in global energy, climate and environment dialogues, as well as adopt an observer status, after being handed a place in the UN Environment Program.

Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan sign energy deal

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman met his Azerbaijani counterpart Parviz Shahbazov on Wednesday to discuss bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, including renewables, Saudi Press Agency reported. During the meeting, the pair signed an energy cooperation agreement covering oil, petrochemicals, gas, electricity and energy efficiency. The deal also outlines cooperation in the field of circular carbon economy and related technologies that seek to mitigate the impact of climate change.
