Iraq’s June oil revenues exceed $7 billion

RIYADH: The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced on Saturday that oil export revenues during June exceeded $7 billion.    According to the State Organization for Marketing of Oil, the total exports of crude during June were nearly 100.06 million barrels, with revenues amounting to $7.11 billion.    SOMO data revealed that the total quantities of crude exported during June from oil fields in central and southern Iraq were 98.72 million barrels.     Oil exports from the Al-Qayyarah oil field in Nineveh governorate in northern Iraq were 1.03 million barrels.   

Saudi cement companies in central region may reduce prices due to strong competition.

RIYADH: A price war between cement producers is likely to break out in Saudi Arabia’s central region on the back of the giga-projects boom, according to a recent report from AlJazira Capital. Since the majority of the huge ongoing developments in the Kingdom are located in its center, companies from across the country have ventured into the region, causing competition to soar.   The report added that the central area is also logistically more feasible and accessible for the majority of the firms in the Kingdom, further attracting external players. 

Boost for Makkah’s Hospitality Industry during Hajj Season

RIYADH: Hotels in Makkah have been running at full capacity as Muslims worldwide flocked to the holy city to perform Hajj after Saudi Arabia removed restrictions on the number and age of pilgrims, according to a top realtor in the city.   “The hotel occupancy rates in Makkah have reached 100 percent, such as the Novotel Thakher Makkah hotel. This substantial increase in occupancy comes in contrast to the 80 percent rate observed during the last Ramadan,” said Abdulaziz Al-Aboudi, the CEO of Thakher Development Co, a real estate firm focused on the hospitality sector.

“King Abdulaziz Port Achieves Record Container Throughput of 206,415 TEUs”

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s quest to ramp up trade volumes has seen one of its major ports registering an unprecedented growth in cargo volume. The King Abdulaziz Port set a new container throughput record of handling 206,145 twenty-foot equivalent units in May 2023, according to data released by the Saudi Ports Authority, also known as Mawani. The Dammam port surpassed its previous record of 199,609 TEUs in August 2022.

UAE Central Bank Predicts 4.3% Growth for Emirates in 2024

RIYADH: A rebound in oil and non-oil activities is expected to help the UAE maintain its projected growth rate of 4.3 percent in 2024, the latest quarterly report from the apex bank showed.     In its economic review report for the first quarter, the Central Bank of the UAE forecast the country’s oil and non-oil gross domestic product in 2024 will grow at 3.5 percent and 4.6 percent, respectively.

Real Estate Fund Plans to Construct 100+ Housing Units in Riyadh

RIYADH: In a bid to contribute to the housing supply and boost the real estate development efforts in Saudi Arabia, Arjan Architects and Bloominvest have joined forces to build more than 100 housing units in northern Riyadh.   The two parties established a joint real estate investment fund called Arjan Al-Maghamis which aims to develop a land area exceeding 30,000 sq. meters in the Kingdom’s capital, Al-Ekhbariya reported.  

Saudi Property Market Performs Well in Q1 Due to Limited Supply: CBRE

RIYADH: Demand for offices remained strong in Saudi Arabia in the first quarter of 2023 as global and local businesses continued to scout for quality spaces in the key cities despite limited supply in the market, the latest report from global consultancy firm CBRE showed.   Most of the offices in Riyadh witnessed nearly 100 percent occupancy, resulting in Grade A and Grade B properties recording a year-on-year rise in average rental rates of 9.3 percent and 14 percent, respectively, in the first quarter.
