Russia is to investigate alleged overseas interference in its approaching regional elections in Moscow.

There are fears that “international meddling” has been encouraging unauthorised protests.

The protests began in July following many opposition candidates were being barred from working in neighborhood elections in Moscow. Police have arrested countless numbers of protesters and some say they have been crushed and now confront major felony fees.

The parliamentary fee states it will summon journalists and diplomats it suspects of interference.

So much, the United States embassy has been blamed for meddling, as have Youtube and the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
