Russian authorities arrested a physicist on suspicion of passing aviation secrets and techniques overseas, native media reported on Thursday.
Anatoly Gubanov, who works for the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, can be held in custody for 2 months on suspicion of state treason, in line with a court docket ruling. If discovered responsible, he might be jailed for as much as 20 years.
“According to the investigation, Gubanov handed over secret aviation development data abroad”, native media reported, including that the person took half in worldwide conferences and tasks involving hydrogen-powered hypersonic plane.
Charges of treason towards employees in Russia’s industrial sectors are widespread. Last month, authorities sentenced a person to 13 years in jail for making an attempt to go army secrets and techniques to the United States.
In October, a serviceman and his brother have been detained for allegedly passing state secrets and techniques to Estonia.
