PML-N authorities pressurised statistics dept to downplay GDP development

Islamabad: The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) authorities has tried to downplay GDP development for the fiscal yr 2021-22 by pressurizing the division of statistics, ARY News reported.

According to ARY News, the Shehbaz Shareef led PML-N authorities reportedly pressurized the division of Statistics and drive them to point out the GDP development from 4.5% to five.5%.

Sources say that the PML-N authorities doesn’t need the division of Statistics to point out a better development charge as its credit score would go to the PTI authorities immediately. Industrial manufacturing went up by 10.4% from July to March, it stated.

Internal sources of the Statistics division have disclosed that the incumbent authorities is forcing them to downplay the financial efficiency for the fiscal yr 2021-22.

Former Finance Minister Shoukat Tareen additionally responded to the manipulation of numbers by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) authorities.

The PTI chief took to Twitter to criticize the PML-N authorities and wrote, “PDM govt should not try to manipulate annual economic numbers. Let PBS do their job. They are highly professional. I expect the GDP growth to be 5-5.5%.”
