Nvidia’s New Driver: The Future of Gaming

Date:

Nvidia has released an updated Game Ready driver for users of its GeForce graphics card. The most significant addition to the Nvidia driver since version 531.18 WHQL is support for RTX Video Super Resolution. This technology brings artificial intelligence upscaling and enhancing smarts to the world of streaming video, similar to DLSS but with distinct inputs and a completely unique trained network. Anyone using a GeForce card from the RTX 30-series or later can try out this technology. The driver also includes support for The Finals closed beta and further DLSS 3 optimizations for Atomic Heart.

There are now over 1,000 games compatible with Nvidia’s GeForce Experience One Click Optimal Settings, and seven additional games have been added to the list with this driver update. These include Warlander, Company of Heroes 3, Sons of the Forest, The Settlers: New Allies, Perish, and Atomic Heart. The update also includes bug patches for well-known games and Adobe programs.

The elimination of defects is always appreciated, and Nvidia acknowledges the elimination of some particularly juicy bugs in the release notes. Forza Horizon 4 (Steam) players no longer have to worry about freezes, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 no longer has stability problems. Smoothing out Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro bugs may be more of a priority for content creators.

Users can manually download the latest 531.18 WHQL driver now or wait for the GeForce Experience companion app to suggest it. The total size of the download is 897.24 MB. Support for the RTX 20-series will be added at a later time.

Nvidia’s other headlining game picks aren’t awe-inspiring. Firstly, the 531.18 WHQL driver “further enhances DLSS 3” in Atomic Heart. Secondly, this driver update will support The Finals’ two-week closed beta. The Finals is a new free-to-play shooter where players form teams of three and compete in tournaments set in a very violent environment. This new game will include Nvidia technology such as DLSS, Reflex, and RTXGI.

In conclusion, Nvidia’s updated Game Ready driver offers several new features and optimizations that will benefit gamers and content creators alike. The addition of support for RTX Video Super Resolution is a significant development that brings AI upscaling and enhancing smarts to streaming video. The bug patches for well-known games and Adobe programs are also valuable additions that will improve the user experience.
