The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested suspected Al-Qaeda terrorist Shamim Ansari from Jalangi in Murshidabad district of West Bengal on Saturday. This is the tenth such arrest inside per week in reference to the continuing investigation to uncover the Al-Qaeda community current in West Bengal and different states.On September 19, NIA arrested 9 suspected Al-Qaeda terrorists – six from Bengal’s Murshidabad district and three from Kerala’s Ernakulam district.
The assertion launched by NIA revealed that the operatives have been planning to assault important installations in India and aiming to kill harmless individuals. “The group was planning to undertake terrorist attacks at vital installations in India with an aim to kill innocent people and strike  terror in their minds. Accordingly, NIA registered a case No. RC-31/2020/NIA/DLI on 11.09.2020, and initiated investigation,” learn the assertion.
Large amount of incriminating supplies together with digital units, paperwork, jihadi literature, sharp weapons, country-made firearms, a regionally fabricated physique armour, articles and literature used for making home-made explosive units have been seized from their possession in accordance with the officers of NIA.
Live TV According to the preliminary investigation performed by NIA, these people have been radicalised by Pakistan-based Al-Qaeda terrorists on social media and have been motivated to undertake assaults at a number of locations together with the National Capital Region.
Those arrested from Kerala have been recognized as – Murshid Hasan, Iyakub Biswas and Mosaraf Hossen.
The six arrested from Bengal have been recognized as – Najmus Sakib, Abu Sufiyan, Mainul Mondal, Leu Yean Ahmed, Al Mamun Kamal, Atitur Rehman.
