Next in Fashion Season 2 Winner: Where Are They Now?

Date:

Netflix’s “Next in Fashion” is a reality fashion competition show hosted by fashion designer Tan France and supermodel Gigi Hadid. The show features young fashion designers who compete to impress a panel of experts, with the winner receiving $200,000 and the opportunity to become the next big thing in fashion. Each episode sees one contestant eliminated, with the final winner showcasing their collection on RenttheRunway.com. The second season of the show aired in 2021, with themes including royalty, thrift, swimwear, and childhood.

The winner of “Next in Fashion” season two is Nigel Xavier, a designer based in Atlanta. Xavier uses patchwork, denim, braids, and other creative methods to make his works of art. His use of patchwork and repurposed materials impressed the judges, who were blown away by his designs. Xavier draws inspiration from the late 1990s and early 2000s, with his pieces focusing on fabrics, materials, culture, and nostalgia.

Xavier won $200,000 from Rent the Runway and will have the chance to showcase his new line on RenttheRunway.com. In the final episode of season two, Xavier competed against Bao Tranchi and Deontre Hancock to create a collection that showcased their brand. Xavier drew inspiration from the Woodstock music festival, using music as a source of inspiration for his designs.

Xavier is known as the “wizard of denim” and has made designs for big names in the music industry such as Playboi Carti, 2 Chainz, and A$AP Rocky. His work has been featured in magazines like GQ and We The Culture. Xavier still spends a lot of time in Atlanta but also travels frequently for work. He continues to focus on denim clothes, which were popular in the 1990s and 2000s.

Before becoming a designer, Xavier played football in high school. He still makes time for his hobbies while pursuing his career in fashion. Xavier’s success in the streetwear business is due to his unique patchwork details that have become his trademark. He draws inspiration from music and culture to create his designs, making him a rising star in the fashion industry.
