MAJRI POLICE booked two individuals for his or her alleged involvement in unlawful sand mining Thursday.
The accused have been stated to be drivers of tipper vehicles which have been seized by police.
The case was registered on the grievance of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Parminder Kumar. He stated that they had arrange a naka near Sialba Majri and noticed two tipper vehicles approaching in the direction of them.
The police occasion stopped the tippers and requested the drivers to indicate them paperwork citing permission for carrying sand.
The complainant alleged that the drivers couldn’t present any paperwork and have been carrying sand illegally.
Police then registered an FIR towards the truck drivers, recognized as Jaspal Singh and Pappu Rai, underneath sections 379 (theft) of IPC and sections 4 (1) and 21 (1) of the Mining Act. Both have been arrested on the spot.
